TREND ESTIMATES

  • The trend estimate for sheep slaughterings fell for the sixth consecutive month, to 871,500. This was the lowest figure recorded since December 2003.
  • The trend estimate for pig slaughterings fell for the eighth consecutive month, to 439,200. This was the lowest figure recorded since September 2001.
  • The trend estimate for pig meat production fell for the eighth consecutive month, to 31,800 tonnes. This was the lowest figure recorded since July 2001.
